Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. 2 Bedroom in a 57 Acre Oceanfront Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
