Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing your Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 2BR Myrtle Condo on Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, call the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
