Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated Beach Bungalow 2BR\/1.5 BA in Ocean Lakes - N-51 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
