Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 2BR\/2BA Remodeled-All Rooms are Oceanfront! 12th Floor-2 Balconies-Beach Locker! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
