Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. T1216: A Beachfront Retreat at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
