How to book the best vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 2nd Floor Partial Coast View Studio w\/ AC, Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
