Tips to get the best rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. ?Oceanfront Serenity? Private Pool & Beach Walkway has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
