Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book the perfectrental home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. ?Oceanfront Serenity? Private Pool & Beach Walkway has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
