Booking the best rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your family choose dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful raised beach house nestled in the Arcadian area - Shore Club Cottage has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
