Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Fairways 30C - Myrtle Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
