How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3BR in Sand Dunes Resort Ocean View - Great Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, email the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
