Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3br Presidential Condo Luxury on Myrtle Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
