How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Luxury 2nd floor Unit Convenient to town and the beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
