Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 3 Bed\/2 Bath Unit-by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
