Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 3br Presidential Condo Luxury on Myrtle Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
