How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the best rental:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 3rd Floor Jamaican Building Serenity by the Sea has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
