Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Coastal Getaway at Compass Cove 1 bed \/ 1 bath has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
