Getting the best vacation property experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 6th-floor studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
