Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 17th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
