Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
Finding the best rental value:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 4br Presidential Condo Luxury Family Fun on Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
