Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • Start by having your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 4th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub & WiFi - dogs OK has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
