Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. The Palace 405 ocean view studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
