Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. The Palace 405 ocean view studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
