Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Choosing and booking yourrental home:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. The Palace 405 ocean view studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
