Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 4th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - snowbirds welcome has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
