Rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Forest Plaza w Beach View Balcony ???? Pool ???? has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
