Our top Rental booking tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean View Double Queen Suite! - Schooner at Compass Cove 243 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
