Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 4th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/ WiFi, AC, Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If not, contact the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
