Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 5 BEDROOM, 3.5 BATHROOM ON STILTS, 200 YARD WALK TO BEACH! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
