Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 5th Floor King Suite Spectacular Coast Views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
