Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 18C Richmond Park, remodeled villa with full access to amenities has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
