How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- To book the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 5th-floor condo with partial ocean view, AC, pool, lazy river, beach & hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
