Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 6th Floor Angle Oceanfront One Bedroom Condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
