Rental home tips:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 7th-floor studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
