Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
How to choose and book the bestrental:
- Start by having your family commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Newly Added Palace Resort,Clean,Pools, High Floor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
