Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 1 Bdrm King Suite Gorgeous View 7th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
