Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean View Giant Hot Tub & Pool (By Beach Star) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
