Strategies to get the very best rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect rental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront King Suite at The Caravelle Resort 1244 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
