Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 8th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, contact the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
