Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 8th Floor Partial Coast View Studio w\/ Pool\/Hot Tub, AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
