Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 9th-floor oceanfront snowbird-friendly condo with AC, pool, hot tub, & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
