How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Heavenly Views from 20th Floor: 2 Bedroom Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
