Strategies to get the best rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. A Pelican Paradise.... Fun In The Sun Year Round! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
