Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Selecting the perfect rental home:
- First, have your group commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Sky-High Luxury: 21st Floor 3BR Oceanfront Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
