Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your group choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Snowbird Rates Available - Beautiful 3-Bedroom Condo Facing the Ocean! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
