Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Rhythm Retreat by the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
