Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the bestrental:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. True Ocean Front Condominium has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
