Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pond view beautiful apartment at Magnolia Place has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
