Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by having your group select dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Adorable Studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
