Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Amazing Oceanfront Views from this 5 Bedroom Condo Unit 1207 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
