Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 4bed4ba Lakefront Home! Ocean Lakes. Just renovated! 1 week in August left!! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
