Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. SANDY PEARL, NEW 2023 BUILD, in Ocean Lakes, 5 Bdr 4.5 Ba has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
