Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking yourrental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Amazing views of ocean from the 3rd Floor !! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
